Hard Hat Shade

The first book my son "read"
This is the first book my then 2 year old son "read" all by himself & I've captured it on video which he watches with delight. He must have been so proud of himself he later went on to read independently by 3. He's now 5 and reading Dick King-Smith and The Magic Tree House books and Wayside School stories and World Book entries and anything he lays his hands on. It's about a bear with a tatty hat who goes into a store to buy a new hat. The salesman shows him many hats which he rejects as being too big, too small, too flat, too tall, etc. It's a great way to introduce adjectives and rhyme and improve memory and boost confidence too. It comes with a surprise ending too. it's a very simple book, but perhaps that's the beauty of it - that it can do so much with so little. Top to learn more

I read about this book in a parenting magazine and picked it up because it was inexpensive. Although the illustrations can not compete with some of the exquisite books available to our children, my 20 month old daughter memorized with joy and gusto this simple story. In fact, it started her using adjectives in her own speech. The Bright and Early books are successful because the simple meter and clear pictures are pure delight to children. Awesome gag gift
I got this for my Dad for Father's Day as a gag gift. It was a hit with him and everyone else that saw it. If I were rating this item solely on that, I would give it five stars. However, I would have liked it to have functionality too. For that reason, I give it three stars.... The fan comes on when in direct sunlight, but the fan barely provides any "cooling". Without looking at it, I could hardly notice that the fan in the hat was on.Bottom line: Get it as a gag...not if you think you'll get constant refreshing breeze on your face while working in the yard. Not as good as hoped for
The hat isn't as powerful as we had hoped for, but it does provide some breeze.The long brim is a plus, but the weight of the fan and solar cells tends to pull it down over one's eyes. My husband thinks it would work much better with a cloth or scarf sewn around the back to cover the neck and counter-weight the brim. We're going to try doing that.The inside of the hat isn't lined, so the plastic button on the very top can be hot on one's head.Amazon sells a much more expensive solar hat, which has the solar cell on the top of the hat and is lined. Very Cute. Spectacular Deals!
I bought these as a gift for my friend's 6 month babay. The bands are well stretch and the baby seem very comfortable while wearing it. At the same time it stays on very well w/o moving around. The daisy are just like the pictures; large and attractive. At first I thought the material of the flowers are more like foam, but they are not. They are soft. I didn't expect the highest quality but they already exceeded my expectation. The abundance of color choices are more than enough can be shared with other friend's baby as well. That's actually what I did. I split up the 12pc set and gave to two friends.I have seen something similar locally but they are priced at $6 or more each. The flower bows are very pretty. But they break easy. The actual head band is fine. The peice of flower petal that holds the clip to the hairbow easily breaks. The bows were for my 3 year old who does well with things and not being rough but the bows still broke the first time she wore them.It is only one that did not break the first time she wore them. It does seem like it can be fixed with either super glue or a hot glue gun. So the quality is not that great but the flowers are pretty. Top to learn more
