Thumbs up for this book!
This was a fun book! I like how the characters are built up and developed and how they come together as a team. Clever use of historical fiction, and you really don't have to know a lot about soccer to enjoy it! I'm sure those who are familiar with the big teams in soccer will get a kick out of seeing their favorite teams and players mentioned also. Again, fun book - easy read, glad I bought it.

Wow
This is a great look at how soccer could have been different in America. Monday night games, Clubs with youth feeder systems, a top level relegation system. The thought that we could have won the World Cup in 82 is a far fetched one for sure but the way this book is written it is a believable option. Thanks for the ride. A must read for any soccer coach or administor.

Product Description
What if the American sports scene had turned out differently? We now have three major sports, 3½ if you include hockey, mainly because of the advent of television in the 1960's and 70's. As strange as it may seem to us today, soccer as a professional sport was just as valid as baseball, basketball, and football for much of the first half of the twentieth century. The Ten Shirt is a fun look back at a history that might have been - if only American soccer had been in the right place, at the right time. Top to learn more
